Osama bin Laden

We are currently watching the news, waiting on President Obama to address the nation with a new announcement.

I was coming back into my classroom from chapel at Christ the King Lutheran School (it was my first year of teaching). When I got my 7th grade Geography class into my room and settled I began to hear from other teachers what was going on. I turned on a radio and we listened to the reports. I pulled down a map and marked the spots where the planes had crashed. Here is the history of that situation...

9/11/01--9 years and 7 months and 20 days ago we waged a war against Iraq.

Osama bin Laden was the leader of a nasty group that caused 3 horrible plane take overs in the USA that resulted in: 1. The Twin Towers in NY were hit by a plane and fell. This killed tons of people and caused problems way beyond any of our expectations. 2. A plane was hijacked and flown into the Pentagon. There were people killed and the country was in awe. 3. Another plane was hijacked and the passengers took over. They saves lives by taking over the plane, they were brave and they took the plane down. By doing this they sacrificed their own lives.

Since then there have been lots of American lives lost in the Iraq, Iran, and Pakistan countries. We have fought and tried to win.

Tonight, it seems from the news reports, that President Barack Obama will be coming on TV to announce that Osama bin Laden is indeed dead and they have solid proof that it is him.

Madi, you have no idea how big a deal this is to us. We have spent the last 10 years recovering physically and emotionally from 9/11. It changed the way we go through airports, get on buses and walk into schools. This is a game changer. This is a life changer.

I will give you more information tomorrow. I love you princess, Momma
